Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, said: "Egyptian Karate makes unique achievements in the World League in Morocco after winning 13 various medals, 5 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze. This achievement confirms the leadership of Egyptian karate at the world level, and topped the world rankings."
He congratulated the Egyptian delegation, the technical staff and the Egyptian Karate Federation for the great achievement and their overwhelming superiority in the World Karate League competitions.
The Egyptian delegation won five gold medals: Youssef Emad, 84 kg, Taha Tarek, 84 kg, Abdullah Mamdouh, under 75 kg, Dahab Sapphire, under 61 kg, Reem Ahmed, under 50 kg. Ahlam Hamdy under 55 kg, including Shaaban over 68 kg, Mohamed Salah under 60 kg, Ahmed Ayman under 67 kg, and Ali Al-Sawy under 75 kg won silver medals.
The bronze medals were won by Hazem Ahmed over 84 kg, Faryal Ashraf under 68 kg, Habiba Helmy over 68 kg, and Mahmoud Jaber under 75 kg and Muhammad Ramadan under 84 kg came in fifth place. The seventh is Yasmine El Hawary under 68 kg, and Aya Hisham in the women's kata.
