Increasing in the number of participants in the African Para Taekwondo Open Championship reaches 30 country

The number of participants in the African Para Taekwondo open championship takes place in Hurghada in 20th of February 2019, has increased where it reached one hundred and twenty six players, representing thirty countries.
Twelve countries will represent Africa: Morocco, Senegal, Niger, Cameroon, Tunisia, Rwanda, Central Africa, Congo, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Egypt.
Thirteen European countries will be represented as follows: Denmark, France, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Great Britain, Ukraine, Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Azerbaijan and Finland.
Jordan, Japan and Kazakhstan are representing Asia while The United States of America and Brazil will represent both North and South America.
Major General Ahmed El-Fouli, head of the African federation and vice president of the international Union, expressed his happiness with this turnout from all around the world.
El-Fouli added that after the inclusion of the para taekwondo in Tokyo 2020, and the confirmation of its participation in Paris 2024, all countries began to pay intention to this sport and began to participate in the important international championships in order to reap the points added to their Paralympic classification and help them qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games as the African Open Championship is classified as G2, G4 by the World Federation of the game, a large number of major countries are interested in participation.
The competition will take place In 20th of February, where the opening ceremony and finals starts at 6 pm.
El-Fouli said that the championship has great attention from the country, represented by the minister of youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, in line with the country's policy of rapprochement with the African countries, with Egypt receiving the presidency of the African Union and the declaration of Aswan as the capital of Africa, the championship is sponsored by number of large companies.
Egypt participates with fourteen players (eleven male players and three female players)
