Sports Minister praises achievements of Egyptian champions in taekwondo, swimming and gymnastics in world competitions

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, praised the achievements of the national teams participating in the “Croatia Open International Taekwondo Championships, the World Swimming Championships in Hungary, and the World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Portugal,” noting that Egyptian players continue to win various titles in the competitions they are participating in; to add new achievements in the Egyptian sports record.
The Minister of Sports congratulated the taekwondo team for winning 6 medals in the Croatian International Open, as well as the gymnastics team for their presentation and performance in the World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships.
The minister also praised the achievement of the Egyptian swimming champion Farida Othman, and the player Marwan El-Qamash, for their distinguished attendance in the World Swimming Championships in Hungary.
The Egyptian taekwondo team for youth and juniors achieved 6 different medals in the Croatian International Open Taekwondo Championship in the G2 category, where the junior team won 3 medals, a gold medal, a silver medal and a bronze medal, while the youth team won two gold medals and a bronze medal.
At the World Swimming Championships in Hungary, the player Farida Othman ranked seventh in the final of the 100m butterfly race with a time of 57.66 seconds for the first time in the history of Egyptian swimming, breaking the Egyptian and African record, while Marwan El-Qamash came 13th in the 400m freestyle race with a time of 3:47:21 in a race of 43 swimmers in the same championship, with great participation from all countries, including "Australia, Germany, Brazil, America, Korea, Italy, China, Portugal".
At the level of the World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships, which was held in Portugal during the period from 13 to 19 June, the national gymnastics team came in seventh place in the first participation of the Pharaohs in the World Championships, and in the individual competitions, the player “Nora El Hennawy” qualified to the final of the championship in a great achievement as the first Egyptian woman qualifies for the final of the World Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics, and came in seventh place.
