Sports Minister arrives in Algeria to attend the opening of the Mediterranean Games

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, arrived at Oran International Airport in Algeria, and was received by the Algerian Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdel Razzaq Sebgag.


The minister's visit to the Algerian Republic comes to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th Mediterranean Games, which will be held in Oran from 25 June to 5 July, with the participation of 26 countries.


It is scheduled that Dr. Ashraf Sobhy will attend a group of competitions that the players of the national teams will participate in on Saturday and Sunday, where the Egyptian delegation will participate in the tournament with these competitions: “Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Fencing, Gymnastics, Handball.” Karate, Shooting, Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Archery, Judo, Sailing, Table tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Equestrian.


Dr. Ashraf Sobhy stressed the depth of the existing relations between the two countries, Egypt and Algeria, in various fields, including political, sports, cultural and artistic fields, pointing out that the two countries excel in sports at the Arab, continental and international levels.


The Minister of Youth and Sports wishes the brotherly State of Algeria success in organizing the events of the Mediterranean Games at all levels.


The minister wished success for the Arab teams participating in the tournament, and the success of the Egyptian teams in winning many medals in the tournament in various games, emphasizing the development of Egyptian sports.
