Farida Osman …. The Egyptian Golden Butterfly

Farida Hisham Osman an Egyptian swimmer, was born in 1995, Started her first swimming training when she was 4 years old at Al-Jazera sports club in Egypt  because of her mother

Farida started swimming to be able to swim and play with her friends in the pool like any other child but she didn’t know that the future hides all that victory for her. Also her family didn’t imagine the glory which Farida brought to her and to Egypt while registering Farida to the swimming training

Over the time, her family realized her talent, ability and they saw her as a champion in the near future. That’s why they pushed her and encouraged her until she became what she is right now, An Egyptian, Arabic and international swimmer who made a new records and brought proud and joy for her country Egypt 

Farida went to study at university of California Berkeley in The United States of America, after a long discussion with her family about finding the best way to balance between swimming, the hobby she adores, and finishing her study. And finally they settled out that the best way was to finish her study at The United States of America, also to improve her abilities in swimming

At age of 11, Farida won her first republic championship, where she won 5 golden medals, achieving a new record at the 50-meter butterfly competition. She also won a golden medal at the Arab Games in 2007 and broke the record in the competition

 In 2010, Farida won 1 golden medal, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals at the African Championship in El-Dar El-Baydaa, Morocco

Farida broke the record at the 2011 World Junior Championship in the 50-meter butterfly competition, this victory was the first of its kind in Egypt's history of the World Junior Swimming Championships


She also won seven golden medals in the Arab Games in the same year. Farida won the bronze medal at the World Swimming Championships in Hungary, the first of its kind in the history of swimming in Egypt. And won three medals in the Mediterranean Games, achieving glory for Egyptian sports in 2018
